Bangia Agostinho Architecture - Prospect Heights

One of the most important questions to answer in every brownstone renovation is how to strike a balance between the historical context, contemporary needs and modern design. In this impeccable renovation there was room in the budget to create an A-team for all disciplines. Architecture (Bangia Agostinho), interior (Shaker Studio), and garden (Lindsey Taylor) are coordinated to create a distinguished and understated design that breathes high quality not only on the surface but in every aspect of the house. No visible air-conditioners, but radiant heating in the bathroom floors. A custom designed Carrara marble mantle on the parlor level and wood painstakingly stripped and refinished. I am sure the luxury comes at a price, but what is admirable is that none of the designers tried to be the protagonist and the result is a harmonious balance between disciplines and styles.
